We finally put the previously mentioned racquetballs to use at Lifetime Fitness today. I am a terrible racquetball player, but we had fun, and most importantly, got a good workout in.
One step at a time...

Racketball
A step in the right direction - while waiting for me to get my hockey skates sharpened on Sunday, my husband browsed the sporting goods store and purchased a container of racket balls.

A step back
My husband has just realized he can stream the NFL Sunday ticket on his computer. Oh no.

5K/10K Big House Big Heart
What a gorgeous day for a run. Bubba and I ran a 5K and 10K, respectively, in Ann Arbor. The Big House Big Heart was a well-run event. Next run - October 30th with a Halloween 5K in Plymouth.

Gorgeous Day for a Run
My husband ran/walked 3 miles today in preparation for the 5K he will do in Ann Arbor next Sunday. Then, he signed us up for not one, but two, 5 Ks this fall. Good stuff!

The good and the chafing
On the good side - my husband walked/ran 3 miles both Saturday and Sunday. And he assembled our new cold frame so I can extend my growing season.
Our first figurative chafing episode happened today when he forwarded an email from a coworker with a recipe for kielbasa soup (and a recommendation on which kielbasa to use for the highest fat content). Not even sure my immersion blender can fix that recipe :-).

There May Be Chafing - Why Now?
One year from today, I hope I will be posting that my husband has lost thirty pounds. I hope he will be exercising regularly, eating better, and off his high blood pressure medication. I hope he will have a lot of energy and feel great. This blog will chronicle our efforts to "Slim the Bubba" through healthier eating and exercise. I hope the chafing, both literal and figurative, will be worth it.
